The Future Jobs Fund was run by the Department of Work and Pensions in partnership with the Department of Communities and Local Government and 3SC operated as one of the prime contractors managing delivery fulfilment. 3SC completed 100% delivery on each of its three Future Jobs Fund contracts, delivering over 5,500 jobs across England, through its diverse supply chain of civil society organisations, with a total contract value of over £36 million.
With well over 50 per cent of those we know about going on to secure sustainable employment opportunities, these results demonstrate how a very large number of civil society organisations can come together, under one umbrella organisation, to create thousands of sustainable employment opportunities for young people. It shows just how well equipped the sector is, through 3SC, to successfully deliver the required outcomes for the Government's Work Programme.
The Future Jobs Fund programme had been set up with the aim to create sustained employment opportunities for young people and those over 25 living in areas of high unemployment. Employment for many, especially for those between the ages of 18 and 24, has been severely affected by the recession and the Future Jobs Fund offered an opportunity for employers to provide new opportunities for work experience.
“We were delighted to have achieved this level of service performance over three separate contracts” said Interim Chief Executive, Martyn Oliver, “It is down to the hard work of the performance management team here, the dedication of staff at Job Centre Plus and the tremendous effort of organisations who have provided valuable experience for these young people, that these contracts have been so popular and therefore so successful in fulfillment.”
With a rate of 20% unemployment, this age group needs opportunities such as these to enable them to enter the job market and play their part in their contribution to society. As the largest contract holder for the delivery of FJF work experience placements for this age-group, 3SC is keen to replicate this positive experience and ensure the future success of any new programme.
We are thankful to all of our service providers, employers and young people who together enabled us to reach 100% delivery fulfilment on our FJF programmes.
If you are interested in working with 3SC to address unemployment, then why not register your interest in delivering under current and new contract opportunities.
